Need advice ( stuck on giants 5
Hello all. I need a bit of help and advice on how to proceed. I just started the game a week ago or so. With my current beasties I can auto complete giants 5 in :45 to 1:20 but when I go to giants six I can do it until I hit the boss then I have to manual it most of the times. Here are my current collected beasties. Currently I have the revenge and vamp quest runes on Reno they are +12 and +9 mix. Other guys have 4* sets but not too sure how to rune what honestly. Would love some guidance with what to evolve / awaken ( from what I have ) and what to aim for rune wise, thanks in advance!
Congrats, pretty good start for just a week or so in.
My recommendation would be pick a few monsters that you like (preferably with different buffs/debuffs etc).
Try really hard to focus on a small core base
Most good early teams have a solid buffers (Like Bernard’s Speed buff),
Lapis the water magic knight (The 4 star you start with) is very good once awakened.
Bernard the wind griffon is very good. Solid option.
Reno is already your highest lvl – solid damage dealer but a skillset that is based around luck.
Shannon or Delphoi. Shannon works brilliantly with bernard (but if you are struggling, delphoi offers better base stats + an immunity buffer)
Colleen (You already have her 3 star awakened lvl 23) – a healer is vital (A great healer that takes a bit of patience/luck to get is the light inugami (Bella))
Dont forget to use friend monsters and mentor’s to really push through a lot of content.
Just keep farming Giant’s levels that you can to get better runes.
Keep to a small core team and dont invest in a team for this and a team for that, 1 well runed team will be better for all content.
Lapis, very flexible. Normally best to rune her for damage (speed and accuracy are helpful too but hp/defence to survive are good too)
Bernard also very flexible. Speed – lots of speed + accuracy, hp and defence are all nice for him – Damage doesn’t matter on him at all.
Reno, he wants damage + accuracy and lots and lots of luck.
Shannon – She really just wants to get HP/Defence stats. As much as possible.
Colleen – HP, Defence with speed if possible. Accuracy is nice too. She will help reduce the attack of bosses and stop the wind dungeon from getting healed.
Slot 2 Rune – generally a main stat of speed is best. After Speed, go for % stats – whether it is HP, Defence or atk, the % offers far more than flat stats
Slot 4 and slot 6 Runes, again best to go for % stats. Resistance as a main stat for slot 6 is not very important for your guys. I would avoid it.
slot 1, 3 and 5 always have a main stat that is flat (not a %)

Thanks for replying with a lot of great information! Any key monsters I should be keeping an eye out for as I summon? Afraid of getting rid of ones without properly knowing, as I did that with the dark lizard and the healing bird thing that starts with a k lol. Thanks again ☺
Sure, as a general rule. Keep all 4* units. Keep all light & dark units (unless they can be farmed from secret dungeons).
If you have multiples, so 2 water dice magicians, you can then feed one.
Keep any 3 star monsters that can be used to fuse dark ifrit (Optional – keep 3 stars to help fuse Sigmarus).

When I first started playing I didn’t think it was going to be so in depth. I just really enjoyed those two ( Reno and the Water Chakram ), so I went with those lol. I do like Reno a lot, and the Chakram can do some crazy dmg but is only single target. Thanks again.
Yes, the RNG on Reno is plenty of fun.
I haven’t used the Chakram’s yet. But if you get a Boomerang Warrior too, they vicious together.
Yes, pick the guys you like. But I would probably still try to keep only 1 (or maybe 2) damage dealers, 1 healer and maybe 2 support guys.
For GB10, most early players use Bella, Shannon, Bernard, Vero +1 as their core.
Okay sounds good. Yeah I was only planning on two dd’s and rest support. Damage is great, but if you don’t live long enough to deal it… Well then it’s useless lol. Is the drunken guy not worth evolving and awaking got him almost max skill thanks to the 40 hr event dungeon? Huan has some okay in game reviews.
Personally, I dont like Huan but that could be because i never used him. But I don’t think he is very early game friendly.
But almost every monster is useable in most areas. There are just some that excel in certain areas.
Huan has low base stats making him squishy and one of his heals is based on Atk Power, meaning you cant focus on making him tanky without sacrificing his heal.
If you are going to build him. I would probably opt for at least 1 HP% or defense rune, 1 Atk% rune and either speed or a another HP% or defense rune.
I think a healthy mix of attack and HP/Defense would be needed (Speed is always nice too)
OK, team synergy is unorthodox but they probably work quite well together.
Damage & debuffs from Reno & Talia, versatility of Huan and undine.
So for Dungeons, who is your fifth?
Guessing Bernard but Shannon could work well too – Her 3rd skill will boost everyone’s defense and their attack – making Huan better at surviving and also increasing his 2nd skill heal.
The defense and attack boost from shannon are both 50% buffs – this pairs nicely with Undine’s leader skill too.
It would be nice to include a good leader skill in your team comp though.
